On 10 July 2025, an important webinar was held for representatives of companies and NGOs interested in public support for digitisation, the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions and the development of digital processes. As experts in grant attraction, we share the latest programme details, requirements and tips.

What grants are available?

The programme is implemented by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA).
Applications will be accepted from 21 July 2025 via business.gov.lv. Funding is available until the budget is exhausted or until the end of the programme on 31 May 2029.

Total budget: €18.5 million.

Main areas of support:

Grants of up to €10 000: for the purchase, development and implementation of new digital solutions (e.g. accounting automation, ERP/CRM systems, digital marketing, cybersecurity).

Grants up to €200,000: for the development and deployment of AI solutions (generative AI, business process automation, machine learning and data analysis, robotics).

Grants up to €10,000: for digital maturity assessment (process audit, digital roadmap).

Who can apply?

Beneficiaries:

– Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)

– Small capitalisation enterprises (up to 499 employees, other than SMEs)

– Mid-cap companies (up to 3000 employees, non-SME and small-cap)

– Public organisations and foundations with at least three traders and an economic activity

Aid intensity:

50% – micro and small enterprises

40% – medium-sized enterprises

30% – small and mid-caps


Criteria and restrictions

Cannot apply:

1) Businesses in certain sectors (banking, insurance, alcohol and tobacco, gambling, real estate, etc.)

2) Actions that do not comply with environmental requirements (e.g. do not respect the principle of “no significant harm”)

3) Organisations with a tax debt of more than €150

3) Companies in bankruptcy, liquidation, sanctions, etc.

Not supported:

1) Purchase of standard office equipment

2) Routine refresh of existing IT systems (excluding MI and cyber security measures)

3) Purchase of real estate

4) Actions completed before the signature of the contract with LIAA


Supported costs

Digital solutions:

– Purchase or rental of software and licences

– Automation, ERP/CRM system implementation, digital marketing, integration with online stores

– Staff training, advice

-Equipment (sensors, devices, software), if not intended solely for standard office functions

Artificial intelligence solutions:

– MI product development and deployment, robotics, big data analytics, digital security

– Certification, licences, integration, data storage and processing infrastructure

Digital maturity assessment:

– Audits, tests, roadmaps, consultations with EDIC centres

Important aspects and tips

The project must be implemented in Latvia only.

De minimis aid limits (State aid must not exceed a fixed limit).

Costs incurred before the application or before the contract must not be funded!

All final payment requests must be submitted by 31 August 2029.

Frequently asked questions and webinar explanations

– Only new solutions focusing on process automation and digitisation are supported.

– Standard hardware or office software upgrades are not supported.

– The deployment of artificial intelligence (including generative AI, automation, data analysis, robotics) is a priority area.

– It is important to justify the economic viability of the project and the expected increase in competitiveness.

– Only one strand can be supported per project (e.g. digital only or MI only).

– Digital Maturity projects can be submitted individually or as part of a complete project.
